So both from first hand experience and from an effort to synergize with higher level players, I've gotten a pretty good grasp on what everyone wants and needs.Final Fantasy XIV - Waste your time farming Poetics with your bard BUT there. I would play the other DPS jobs more, but almost nobody wants your DRG if you have a BRD. I'd consider myself a BRD main, but I play PLD and WHM pretty much as my main tank/healer as well as playing SCH and WAR a lot in situations that need them more. They try not to overstack skill speed because it ends up hurting this and if the BRD is taking a 20% hit for you to get 0.2 seconds faster GCDs, it's almost always a net loss for the group. The thing about TP is that most higher tier players aim to make themselves self-sustainable in all but the very longest fights. In the PvP section, you will find information about its.Missing: cds Must include: cdsBallad is something that is rarely needed outside of very very healing intensive fights. Depending on how important it is for them to immediately pick the fight back up, Paeon can really help them get the small TP boost necessary to get back into a comfortable spot with hate.Learn all you need to know about the white mage job, including its actions, traits, and job gauge. The only exception I think is really if a WAR dies mid-fight. Just remember that Paeon barely has to be on for a handful of seconds before really putting people back into a sustainable state. You can make the call in very specific scenarios where you yourself are starving for TP from AoE spam. For rotations, keep your dots up, keep empyreal arrow and sidewinder on cd and straight shot buff up.Paeon is super situational as a result and applies more to things like AoE rotations for DRGs or maybe large pulls for WARs spamming overpower, but even then, most jobs learn to manage without a BRD so Paeon becomes largely unnecessary. ![]() Ffxiv Bard When To Use Dmg Cd'S Full MP LikeIt's fine to try to keep it up all the time, but don't find yourself sitting at 400 MP when the DPS check comes and you suddenly can't sing it for more than a few moments. Specifically WHMs.In all other fights, just try to figure out the rhythm of when you will need the MP for Requiem most. If you're in a party trying to quickly do a dungeon run and you only have physical DPS, never underestimate the extra damage your healers can put out. Sure, the occasional flash or SS is nice, but they aren't going to be in trouble without full MP like a healer might.Don't forget about your healers. They will almost always value your extra damage over keeping them topped off as, once a fight is under control (usually withing 1 second of the pull) they don't need MP for anything. They are usually sitting quite comfortably on top of hate and can always toss our a few riot blades to get some more MP. It almost never works out mathematically in anyone's favor. It's a tiny thing but people appreciate it.Do not underestimate your damage and don't overly sacrifice it to give a tiny boost to another player. When in double hold off Requiem for Ballad. Also be aware of how requiem works and if you cast it and then run nearish a group of enemies, it will hit them and they will all come for you. It's not necessary, but just use it all the time between pulls. It will also keep overzealous BLMs (or those who haven't gotten Quelling Strikes yet) from pulling hate and messing up a fight if the tank is undergeared. If there is a break in the fight for even a few moments, it may be worth dropping requiem to get a few ticks of MP so that you can make it last longer during actual phases where damage can be done.I'd also recommend, if the fight is a shaky one, just hold off on Requiem and make sure you have MP for Ballad. BRD is not a full support job and even if your DPS isn't always as high as DRG, MNK, SMN, or BLM, it can be damn close to them and often better than the average player of those jobs if you're doing your job right. Sadly, this is not that game. You're losing time each time you do it and the only time it's really worth it is if you're trying to regenerate MP for requiem during battle downtime.I loved FFXI and I loved being a pure support BRD. That's lost DPS time, especially if you're doing it constantly on and off. ![]() ![]() I generally save ballad until my healers call out for it over TS because I can't see their cool downs, so I can't tell if they have shroud of saints or aetherflow charges to energy drain etc. If I have casters, I start the fight with foes, and generally after your MP pool is replenished, your healers may need MP, or , you can put up foes again. I generally try to know a fight inside and out and get the most out of my songs. First and foremost, you've got the right idea in terms of ballad and foes, however the usage of each, for me has turned into a bit of a science. Also, I'm out of TP cause i haven't been using invigorate, can you throw paeon up at some point?(to healers) Raise me when you get a chance - I'm going to need paeon after.I used invigorate right before I died. These guys are actually pretty self-sufficient - war MIGHT ask for TP if he's overpowering too much.As a fellow bard I can give you a few tips. Download virtualbox mac emulatorT5 , my rotation used to be a bit weird, we ran 2 bards, I'll try to write out the rotation as non-confusing as possible.Bard 2 Foe at start -> Bard 1 Ballad after adds die (unless healers good, then ballad after conflag. In T4 I use at least 4 different songs throughout the fight depending on my team comp. In an aoe intensive fight, bards will always run out first, our aoes suck quite frankly and they are extremely TP intensive, in a long and drawn out fight however, a monk will always run out of TP before you, especially in T8.T4 and T5 are honestly the first two turns you start to work with song rotations. However, if there is a fight where there is heavy aoe or a prolonged fight , see T8 11 minute burn, then a paeon will most definitely be required. In most fights, you probably won't need to use it. Paeon on the other hand is a bit tricky. There is a trade off when you use some songs, and it might be beneficial to just put it all towards your own DPS rather than potentially prolonging the fight. This prolongs the use of Foes , whilst helping your healers, essentially , if you have a DRG in the PT , you lose 0 damage overall, as 20 % is mitigated cumulatively across Disenbowel + Foes and getting free MP regen, this can actually get you a net DPS increase if you have more than one caster.I think maximizing DPS and proficiency of your support abilities go hand in hand. Final phase, Bard 2 will use ballad , Bard 1 foes.
