In recent times, Microsoft Office vs Google Docs has been silently fighting a war for the title of the leading word processor. While most of you have been using Microsoft Word for years to draft everything from school assignments to resumes to essential work documents, Google Docs is a web-based platform that has significantly changed the way you edit and share docs in this era.Office for Mac converts the file's formatting to the closest equivalent web formatting. Therefore, the webpage might look very different from the original file.And if relevant, the files are being saved to local instance of Google Drive. If I click "Don't Save" it will quit successfully, but then all prior work done on the document won't be saved.The only workaround I've found is to "Save As" with a new name, which is very frustrating to keep track of several versions.This problem seems to happen more often if I have the document open a long time.MS Office (version 16.44) and Mac OS (Catalina 10.15.7) are up to date.
